Getaway
in the middle of beautiful Napa Valley...
Whether you are looking for a quiet walk on a romantic evening, a
place for great family fun, birdwatching, bicycle riding, or just
plain sightseeing, the Napa River Trail has something for everyone.
There are two large sections of the Napa River Trail currently open
within the city limits of Napa - 1.2 miles of trail in J.F. Kennedy
Park and the 1.3 miles between Lincoln Avenue and Trancas Street.
You can book reservations and get ideas from NapaRiverTrail.com from
Events, Things to do and Entertainment.
Ultimately, the Napa River Trail will go along the Napa River
completely through the city of Napa – and in the Downtown area, on both sides
of the river. It is a gorgeous walk, ride or run – and with a view of Napa that
few residents have seen. You'll see ducks and other wildlife and
probably a fisherman fishing for striped bass, trout, or other sport
fish. It is very peaceful and protected from traffic and other sounds
of the city.
At Kennedy Park there are wide open spaces, with great views of the
tidal marshlands that characterize the southern part of Napa
County. The marshes found here are significant striped bass nursery
grounds and serve as important wintering grounds along the Pacific
Flyway for waterfowl and shorebirds.
The best view of the Napa River is from

river
cruises. Napa River Adventures daily cruises depart from the
Kennedy Park Dock - reservations are required.
In Downtown Napa you will see civic buildings and historic Main Street
along side the river's edge - underscoring the evidence of Napa's
historic relationship to the river. Conservation efforts are
underway to restore native and compatible plants along the banks of
the river in the downtown area.
Come and enjoy the Napa Valley from an entirely new perspective as you stroll alongside the Napa River!
